DBT for Borderline Personality Disorder
Dialectical behavioral therapy otherwise referred to as DBT, is a form of therapy that was created by the psychologist Marsha M. Linehan in the late 1980’s. Dr. Linehan developed DBT to improve the treatment of borderline personality disorder. Currently, DBT therapy is very popular and often utilized for the treatment of other mental health disorders that are not healthy such as substance abuse, self-harm, and suicidal ideations. Many consider it a modified form of cognitive behavioral therapy, also known as CBT.
